From Chiang Mai to Maehongson city by bus takes approximately 7 hours. You have the option of an ordinary non-air-conditioned bus, an air-conditioned private bus, or an air-conditioned government bus, departing the Arcade (Bus Centre) in Chiang Mai city. There are two routes to Maehongson city from Chiang Mai. One route via Highway 1095 goes via Pai to Maehongson city, the other via Highway 108 passes through Maesariang and Khun-yuam to Maehongson city.
